This Wednesday, February 23 from 6-8pm, at Ellwood’s Café (10 S Thompson St) experience a competition unlike any other, the RVA Barista Jam. “What is a Barista Jam?” is the first question I asked when coming across this FREE event. A Barista Jam is the informal cousin of a Barista Competition. Barista Competitions are huge events involving competitors and spectators from around the world. There are strict guidelines that baristas must follow in order to participate in these competitions. The Barista Jam is a way for the average barista to show their skills and creativity in a friendly competition. And the great thing about this Barista Jam is that it is all local baristas. So head to Ellwood’s Café, enjoy some of their food and drink, while you are there and experience Richmond’s own baristas at work. Photo credit.
