Date Night Review - Thai Diner

Ok, so I know that Thai Diner (8059 W Broad St) doesn’t really have a date night special or any kind of special for that matter, but….I love this place.  A friend of mine said she hadn’t been here because it looked a little shady situated in the shopping plaza.  It may not be the most beautiful spot in Richmond, but this place serves GOOD food.  I wanted to put a quick review up because this place is a good deal any night (or day) of the week, special or no special.

Thai Diner is in the not so trendy shopping strip waaay up Broad St near Total Wine.  It is the perfect place to go if you can’t decide what to cook for dinner.  (This is pretty much every night of my week.)  Last Thursday, we hit the Thursday wine tasting at Wine and Beer Westpark and then headed to Thai Diner for a quick bite.  And by quick bite, I mean really quick because the service is always fast with the meal hitting our table before I can even finish one long winded story about my day.

I usually order the Noodle of the Drunk, but I get in with medium heat.  One day I will work my way up to American Hot, but for now, I’m just regular American, wimpy.  It is a great dish to warm you up on a cold day.  I get the flat rice noodles and chicken and really enjoy the flavors of basil and the warm tomatoes.  The husband likes to switch it up with Noodle Soup, Spicy Noodle Soup or Flat Rice Noodle Stir Fry with vegetables.  Can you tell we like noodles?

The best thing about Thai Diner, other than really good food and quick service, is the great prices!!!  We don’t order drinks usually, just a tall glass of water for me.  Our tab was only $22 for dinner!  That is better than some lunch prices for food this good!  Photo credit.
